On June 10, 2010, Frishberg & Partners organized a conference in Washington, D.C. together with U.S.-Ukraine Business Council and the Embassy of Ukraine, entitled, “Doing Business in Ukraine in 2010.” The distinguished speakers included:

Morgan Williams is Director, Government Affairs, Washington Office for the SigmaBleyzer Private Equity Investment Management Group. He is also the President of the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council, a non-profit U.S. organization established in October 1995 to advance U.S. companies' trade and investment interests in Ukraine.

Alex Frishberg is a senior partner of the law offices of Frishberg & Partners. He graduated from Washington University School of Law (J.D., 1988), practiced at Hogan & Hartson, D.C. office, before opening his law firm in Kiev, Ukraine, in 1991. Mr. Frishberg’s practice areas include: Mergers and Acquisitions, Joint Ventures, Real Estate, Privatization. Membership: District of Columbia Bar, American Bar Association; Chairman, Legal, Government Relations and Economic Committee, American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, 1992-1995 and 1999.

Ambassador Roman Popadiuk was the first U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine. He has successfully supported U.S. companies and individuals exploring various business opportunities worldwide. Ambassador Popadiuk served as Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy Press Secretary for Foreign Affairs under President George Bush, a position he also held toward the end of President Reagan's administration. He is a retired member of the Senior Foreign Service and has received a number of awards, including the State Department's Superior Honor Award and the Meritorious Honor Award.

Anders ?slund has been a senior fellow at the Peterson Institute since 2006. He is also an adjunct professor at Georgetown University. He examines the economies of Russia, Ukraine, and Eastern Europe. He worked at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace from 1994 to 2005; he also worked at the Brookings Institution and the Kennan Institute for Advanced Russian Studies. Mr. ?slund served as an economic adviser to the governments of Russia, Ukraine, and Kyrgyzstan.

Alexander Paskhaver is a world-recognized expert in privatization matters. Education: Ph.D., Institute of Economy of the Academy of Science of the USSR, Moscow (1972). He has advised several of Ukrainian Presidents, Prime Ministers, as well as the State Property Fund, where he co-authored key legislation that governed large and small-scale privatization. Professional Affiliations: Advisor on Economic Policy to the President of the Ukraine and former Consultant to the Ukrainian State Property Fund; editor-in-chief of the bulletin “The Ukrainian Economic Monitor”.
